Hurricane Irene Recovery Fund on Behalf of Sue Lavigne

September 6, 2011
by Jack Reynolds

Dear Friends,

Sue Lavigne is an extraordinarily hard worker and personal friend who lost her home to Hurricane Irene. She is a sturdy diligent person with a big heart who has had too many setbacks in life. This one can be fairly and honestly be called a tragedy.

Sue has been the housekeeper of my Upper Pines Lodge for over a decade. She and her husband Mike live in Waterbury, Vermont and their home was demolished by Hurricane Irene. To make matters worse, Sue’s husband Mike was recently laid off.  Further, Sue and Mike do not have any have flood insurance and their homeowners insurance excludes floods and acts of God.

I am offering to assist Sue and Mike by collecting financial donations to help them get back on their feet as soon as possible.  I have already wired them a meaningful 4-figure gift to jump-start the process.  Many of us enjoy privileges in life and this is an opportunity to dig into our pockets to help two people who are really suffering. For those of you who are familiar with Upper Pines Lodge, this is a chance to give something back to the woman who takes special care of the Lodge and helps make guest visits truly wonderful. Sue is a kind, caring, sacrificing woman who needs our help now. You can view some of the devastation that Sue and Mike are suffering by viewing this video.

Please help Sue and Mike recover from Hurricane Irene by making a financial contribution through ChipIn or by sending a check or money order to the address below. Any and all donations will be greatly appreciated.

I am confident that each of us can do something to help Sue and Mike.  Please do what you can.

Respectfully, Jack

Sue Lavigne
